A basic explanation of the 3 Angles Messages.

THE FIRST ANGEL’S MESSAGE

Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

The first angel’s message begins with “the everlasting gospel.” Romans 1:16 defines the gospel as “the power of God unto salvation [from sin] to every one that believeth.” Sin is when we break one of God’s commandments. 1 John 3:4. We need this power of God in the gospel because the power of sin is greater than our will power. John 8:34. The everlasting gospel has in it all the power of Creation and is found in the Word of God. John 6:63; Ps. 33:6,9. God leads us by His Spirit to repent of our sin, confess it to God, consecrate our lives to Him, and then believe that he gives us the victory through His exceeding great and precious promises. Acts 5:31; 1John 1:9; Jer. 29:13; 2 Peter 1:4. The everlasting gospel is “everlasting” because it is the same from the beginning of sin until the end of sin. Heb. 12:24. All people are saved in the same and one Way—by “the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29; John 14:6; Acts 4:12.

The first angel announces that the “hour of God’s judgment is come.” This judgment is depicted in Daniel 7:9-14. Before Jesus comes there must be an inspection of our life record to determine if we are worthy of a place in the heavenly kingdom. Rev. 22:12, Luke 21:36. God wants us to have every sin repented of and overcome by His power and grace. Rev. 2:7,11,17,26,27; 3:5,12,21. His last-day church will be ready for Jesus to come by having characters that are without spot or blemish. Eph. 5:26,27; 1 John 3:2,3; Rev. 14:5,12.

To “fear God and give glory to Him” means to walk in obedience to His commands and have His character (glory) in our life. Job 28:28, Prov. 3:7; 16:6; Ex. 33:18-34:7.

“Worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” is a call to worship the true God. It implies that there is a false God and a false worship in these last days. God the Father created all things through Jesus His Son, and with the Holy Spirit upholding all things. Eph. 3:9; Gen.1:1,2. In six days the earth was created and on the seventh day God rested. God blessed the seventh-day and sanctified it (set it apart as holy) for the day to worship Him. Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-12.

This call of the first angel reminds us to worship the Creator on of the Seventh-day Sabbath is for three reasons: 1) The theory of evolution has tried to undermine this first message by saying that man was not created by God, there is no God, and therefore, no judgment. So live as you please. 2) A false doctrine is being preached by mainline Christianity saying that the day of worship has been changed to the first day of the week. Jesus says that He is Lord of the Sabbath (the seventh-day; Mark 2:28), He worshipped God on the seventh-day (Luke 4:16, Mt. 24:20), providing us an Example, and He said, “In vain do they worship Me teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Mt. 15:9. 3) To worship the Creator on the seventh-day Sabbath according to the fourth commandment is righteousness. To do otherwise would be sin. Sabbath-keeping is true preparation for Christ’s second coming.

The word “angel” means “messenger.” God has heavenly angels [messengers] and earthly messengers. God uses earthly messengers to preach the everlasting gospel. This angel represents a movement of God’s people who give this message to every nation. kindred, tongue, and people.

THE SECOND ANGEL’S MESSAGE

Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Symbols in the Old Testament are interpreted locally and geographically. In the New Testament period, prophetic symbols are interpreted globally and spiritually. This is the case with “Babylon.” “Babylon” in defined in Revelation 17:5 as a impure, harlot woman. On her forehead is written the name “Babylon, the mother of harlot.” In the Bible a woman represents a church system. Jer. 6:2; 2 Cor. 11:2. A pure church is represented by a pure woman. Rev. 12:1. Babylon is an impure woman, representing an impure church system. Rev. 17:1-5. Babylon is represented as fornicating with governments, thus being a church/state system. Rev. 17:1,2. Babylon is also said to be drunk with the blood of the saints. This symbol is most accurately fulfilled in the Roman Catholic church/state system that made war with the saints for 1260 years through the Dark Ages.

Babylon is a mother of harlots. That means she has had daughter church systems which also have looked to the state for civil power, having lost the power of God in the gospel. These harlot daughters of the Roman Catholic church are the Protestant church systems. They became part of Babylon when they rejected the power of God in the First Angel’s message as it was first given in 1800-1844.

The wine of Babylon represents her false doctrines such as: Sunday sacredness, the Trinity, Immortality of the Soul, and Eternal Torment in Hell for the sinner. Babylon teaches a false gospel that you just have to believe in Jesus—He will cover your sins. The Bible says, “Thou shalt call His name Jesus for He shall save His people from [not in] their sins.” Matthew 1:21. Babylon and her daughters are world-wide church/state systems that make all nations drink of her wine that causes fornication—a union of church and state. Jesus said that His kingdom is not of this world—it is not to be united with the state. John 18:36; Matt: 22:21. Babylon is Satan’s world-wide attempt to block the global Three Angels’ Message movement.

God’s people are to declare that these church systems (that have united with the world and teach false doctrines, such as worshipping God on a day that man has sanctified) are fallen—fallen from truth. Linked with this message is God’s call for His people to come out of Babylon, lest they be partakers of her sins. God makes a distinction between His people and the system that they are in.

THE THIRD ANGEL’S MESSAGE

Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The Beast is the Roman Catholic Church system. It received a deadly wound in 1798, when the Papacy lost her civil power. This was regained in 1929 in a treaty with Italian dictator, Mussolini. Rev. 13:1-10. The Image of the Beast is a union of church and state, beginning in the United States. Rev. 13:11-18. The United States will cause the rest of the world to make an image to the beast had the wound by the sword and did live. Rev. 13:14. The mark of the beast is something in the worship of the Beast that is opposed to the mark of identification of God’s people—“keeping the commandments of God and having the faith of Jesus.” Rev. 14:12. The Roman Catholic church/state system boasts of its power to change the ten commandments and the day of worship—this is the mark of her authority. The mark of the beast, having to do with “worshipping the beast,” is the worship of the Trinity on Sunday enforced by civil legislation. Rev. 13:17. Those who worship the beast and obey the enforced Sunday worship will receive the mark of the beast, while those who worship the Creator God on the seventh-day Sabbath will receive the Seal of God. Rev. 1316; 14:9,1,12; 7:1-3.

When the Third Angel’s Message ends, human probation will have closed. All men will have made their decision to worship the Creator or the Beast system.

Those who worship the Beast and the Image of the Beast will receive the wrath of God unmixed with mercy. The wrath of God is in the seven Last Plagues. Rev. 15:1; 16:1,2. They will be tormented [or tested] by the fire and brimstone of Christ’s second Coming with all his holy angels. 2 Thess. 1:7-9. The smoke of their torment last as long as their lives last (forever and ever). 1 Sam. 1:22,28; Mal. 4:1,3.

By contrast God’s true last-day church will simply “keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Rev. 12:17; 14:12. This is righteousness by faith in the power of Jesus Christ to save us from sin, in verity.
